Plain, unseasoned baked beans in small amounts are generally low risk, but most commercial baked beans are high in sugar and salt, and some recipes include onion.
The beans themselves aren't a major concern once cooked, but baked bean sauce is typically loaded with sugar and salt for flavour, and recipes (including chakalaka-style preparations) commonly include onion. This is a food where the sauce matters more than the bean.
